So there’s this stigma that a woman who is “aging gracefully” is elderly and looks quite young for herself and has this unique vibrancy in her energy. Sure, this is nothing short from the case, but that’s not ALL it is.
To age gracefully means to take each moment and add it to your “wisdom repertoire”. Not to just be alive & recklessly floating through each moment in time, not learning a dang thing and holding on to bag and bags of baggage from the less fortunate circumstances in your life! Learning and applying what you’ve learned for your highest and truest good, is what allows you to age gracefully, from the inside–out.
Whether you’re 12 or 86, there is no starting point to when you “should” start nurturing yourself. Heck, the best cure is ALWAYS prevention. Why not do exactly what it is that you love, fearlessly? That’s what builds confidence. When you wear that outfit you like vs. the one that got the most likes on Fashion Nova’s insta page, you hold your head higher even when you walk outside and get 0 feedback, because you’re not looking for it anyways!
Aging gracefully means to not have to learn everything the hard way, 50 times solid. It means holding yourself accountable, daily, and loving yourself enough to make the necessary adjustments from your heart.
Don’t let anyone have a hold of your spirit and hold you hostage from your own destiny. No one has control over your shine until you give it to them.
That reminds me, I came across this amazing woman on YouTube, discussing her beauty secrets at 76 years old! A DIVA nonetheless. FABULOUSO, dah-ling!
Who said that 76 was an “old” age? Why does 76 even have to be considered an “old” age!? Yes, clearly more life has been lived, but whose to say how much more isn’t coming in the days ahead?
You’re merely a product of what you think you are overtime… (yes, even right now).
Acting your age based on someone else’s ideals will only make them be at peace…not you.
Your light shines (authentically) when you live in truth.
As spoken in the video, “you get more confidence when you age“, this doesn’t necessarily mean years only, but also internally based on the wisdom you chose to hold on to and live by in each waking moment.
Eat right, workout, pamper your skin, take your vitamins, do it all for YOU because if you always insist on doing it only for your husband, the animals, your parents, etc…you’ll end up empty and miserable with nothing else to give all the people you’ve made these sacrifices for in the first place!
You can’t age gracefully without first aging gracefully…
Growing up isn’t so bad.
